The main thing that shows the identity of a lacrosse player is his or her lacrosse jersey as it is usually with their personal team colours and therefore show everybody else who their other teammates. In addition, the lacrosse jersey is an identification of fans also as they show with whatever colour jersey they wear which team has their support. Usually the teams offer their lacrosse jersey for their fans to purchase as a sign of encouraging being their supporters even more.
In the lacrosse team the general uniform and the lacrosse jerseys are the same for all players with the exception of the goalkeeper, who has a little bit different jersey than the other players to make it more obvious for the other team that he or she is not a regular player.
The colour scheme used on the lacrosse jerseys actually plays a more important role than it might seem. Usually the colours have some historical origins and once a team has chosen their colours they do not change them again. Another historical aspect of the lacrosse jerseys is that sometimes the jerseys travels among family members. For example, when a son starts to play lacrosse his father can give his old jersey to the son. Of course, the son will probably not use it in games anymore but rather there is a symbolical meaning.
