Lacrosse sticks

The main tool of lacrosse players is their stick, also known as crosse. The lacrosse stick has two parts- the handle and the head. These parts can be purchased separately and then combined afterwards and also the same handle can use different heads and vice versa.

The lacrosse stick’s head is used in the game to guide and handle the ball. It has such a built that it can be used to catch, throw and cradle the ball. The material used to make lacrosse stick’s head is usually plastic, but some players also like the old and classical material of wood. To form a pocket some lacrosse sticks are strung with either mesh or leather.

The lacrosse stick’s handle, sometimes also called shaft, are usually made out of hollow metal. They are usually not round but octagonal as it is easier for players to master them and have a better and firmer grip on the lacrosse stick. The most common materials for the lacrosse sticks are aluminium, titanium, scandium or the alloys of the previously mentioned metals. The handle could also be made out of the traditional wood, but that is not that common anymore. The handles used in women lacrosse are usually longer than the ones used by men.
